My name is Raïs.

Wedding photographer for seven years, multi-award winning, but above all an enthusiastic spontaneous lover of photography.

I got into photography when I was just 7 years old and stole my parent's camera. After that I shot an entire film roll with 21 of the (almost) exact images of my black cat laying in the garden.

My parents told me later that they got a véry weird look from the developer of their film roll. And then my mom gently told me that I really shouldn't do that.

Later I got my first camera at 12
and my very first professional DSLR at 16.

I never stopped ever since.

The young Belgian photographer Raïs De Weirdt has already had a distinctive international career.

The qualified photographer managed to make a name for herself at breathtaking speed through international campaigns for major magazines and companies. In addition to many international awards, she was voted "Young Photographer of the Year 2021" by the Federation of European Professional Photographers (FEP) in 2021.
Raïs has been a juror for the bpp YOUNG PHOTO AWARD since 2022.

Giving back.

After years of photography, I realised probably one of the most important things in my life: as a photographer, you can trùly give back.
You can spread awareness, you can cut through themes like no other, and you can really mean something for society.

That's why I truly wanted to give back with my photography, in order to embody purpose and sense in a society where it's so much needed.

We went to Ukraine to volunteer for 1 month and the full story about it will

My parent’s wedding

My parents got married when I was 7 years old, and because I was that old already, I remember the wedding still so vividly.

The happiness and beauty of a wedding day is engraved into my memory as a kid, and that’s probably why I love weddings as much as I do. I look back at these images still with the same joy. To me, they formed a window of time when my parents were at their most beautiful in one of the happiest days of their lives.

Having lost my dad at the age of 16, I look back at these images and see him smiling at us, and the images have become so incredibly important and precious to me.

That’s why I understand what I can do at a wedding day. What I can mean. That’s why I want to spend so much time on family pictures. Why I make sure I snap pictures of the elderly too. Of your parents, great grandparents. That’s why I understand your images will hold so much value.
It’s why I fell in love with photography and it’s why I want you to fall in love with your wedding images too.

Just as much as they mean to me, they’ll mean to you and your children, and your grand-children, too.
